* NOTICE: Do to the late posting of the rules and regulations, this years exciting lion dance competition will be restricted to floor routines only. Please review the following requirements: Rules:
- Time limit of 15 minutes for performance
- Absolutely NO apparatus allowed this year
- A Buddah-man IS permitted
- Same 2 lion performers ONLY will perform
- Team must provide their own equipment including music gear, lions, costumes, etc.
- Musicians will include; 1 drummer, 1 gong and 3 cymbal players only, respectfully.
Judging: Performers will be judged according to
- musical expression/synchronicity
- lion expressions (various)
- the level of difficulty of “tricks”
- presentation/traditional value
- over-all performance
* Deduction from final score of 1/10 of a point for every 15 seconds over the time limit applies. Schools may enter more than one lion team but must have all different performers.
